Privacy Policy

Ahead puts your day together on your iPhone. Everything stays on your phone, nothing is sent to us, and the only thing that leaves your device is your location, which goes to Apple for the weather.

What Ahead reads

Only what you allow in the Settings app, and only to put your day together:

• Calendar — your events, from every account on your phone, to show what's coming up. With your permission Ahead can also add an event you've planned.
• Reminders — your reminders, to show what's due. Ahead can add a reminder when you ask it to (for example, a plan for a holiday), and can check one off.
• Health — your sleep, resting heart rate, steps and activity, to say how you're doing in the morning. Ahead never writes anything to Health and never uses Health data for anything but the day on screen.
• Location — once, when you set up the app or set a home location, to find the weather where you are.

You can say no to any of these. Ahead still works with whatever you allow.

Where it goes

Nowhere, with one exception.

• Your day is written on your iPhone. On iPhones that can run Apple Intelligence, Ahead uses Apple's on-device model to write the day in sentences. It runs on the phone, with no connection needed, and nothing is uploaded. On other iPhones, Ahead builds the same day from your calendar, reminders and health directly.
• Weather. If you set a home location, Ahead sends that location to Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to get the forecast. That is the only data that leaves your device, and it goes to Apple, not to us. Apple's privacy policy covers how it handles it.
• Siri and Spotlight. If you ask Siri about your day, or search in Spotlight, Ahead answers from a copy of your day kept on your phone. Apple's processing of your Siri request is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Ahead has no servers, no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party SDKs that see your data. We cannot see anything you do in the app.

Notifications

Ahead's nudges (morning, midday, evening and the Sunday preview) are scheduled on your phone. Their text is built on your phone from your calendar and reminders. Nothing about them passes through a server.

What's stored, and deleting it

Your name, your working hours, your home location, your What matters list and your preferences are stored on your phone only. Your day and the cards you've set aside are cached on your phone so the app opens quickly.

To delete everything, delete the app. To stop Ahead reading a source, turn it off in the Settings app under Privacy & Security; Ahead adjusts on its next open.

Payments

Ahead is free. Earlier versions offered an Ahead Plus subscription through Apple's In-App Purchase; it is no longer sold. If you still have one, you can cancel it in Settings › your name › Subscriptions, and request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see payment details.

Children

Ahead is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. It collects no information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the change is described here.
